Food Tour – Charleston South Carolina – Day 1

Hello internet.

The past few weeks have been crazy. Work, school, internship, wedding planning – it never ends. None of this is a bad thing though. Life is good. I wanted my next post to be a recipe for fig jam. I have a recipe coming up that is dependent on the fig jam first. However, I am on vacation right now. I am spending the next 3 days in Charleston, South Carolina. I have never been here before and I happen to be visiting with two other foodies.

That’s what led me to this post idea. I tend to go out of town a lot and I like to try the local food. So I thought, why not show the good food related things I come across. These kinds of posts will be more pictures than anything else.

Enjoy!

I will need these services one day…

The Savannah Bee Company – I didn’t realize how many flavors of honey existed. The samples were appreciated.

Il Cortile Del Re – a nice Italian restaurant we stumbled upon by mistake. One of the best food mistakes I have ever made. It was one of the freshest and most delicious italian meals I have ever had. I could eat at this place all the time.

Complementary bread with extra virgin olive oil

Ravioli Di Mare – Fresh made ravioli with ricotta cheese, shrimp, crab, and lobster in a creamy cheese sauce with black truffle shavings and white truffle oil. We all ended up ordering it and agreed it was the best ravioli we have ever had. I could eat this dish everyday.

Chocolate Bomba – This was a 3 layer dessert the waiter talked me into. The outside is a chocolate gnash shell. The inside is house made peanut butter gelato with a caramel center. Fantastic.
