Restaurant Review: Paisley Cafe Tallahassee FL

This week I was able to visit a wonderful new restaurant in Tallahassee called the Paisley Café. Opening early last week, the Paisley café is located directly behind “Lucy and Leo’s Cupcakery”. This place is like a love letter to why I love the restaurant business and the foodie scene. The owner used to work for a bank in Tallahassee. After years of putting in her time, she decided to follow her passion and open the restaurant she always wanted. The story (and food) would fit right at home on Food Network’s “Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives.

Food Truck Review: The Mobi Truck Tallahassee, Fl

There are many different types of food trucks. I feel that in the end though, most trucks can be separated into two different categories. There is the gourmet food truck where the chef attempts to serve you a plate that could come from a 5 star restaurant.  The one where the food is of such a high quality you either feel that they are doing this to raise money for a restaurant or they are doing it to be ironic. The other kind of truck is more of a novelty. Maybe they have the truck because they love to experiment with food. It could just be a hobby for them. In the end though, this is the kind of truck that is there to just have fun. Each type of truck has their own pros and cons to them.

Restaurant Review: 101 Restaurant

I thought I would start this blog off with a restaurant review.

101 Restaurant

Location: 215 College Ave. Tallahassee, Florida 32301
Phone: (850)391-1309
Website: http://www.101tallahassee.com/
Prices: Tapas – $6.99 to $12.99
Meals – $9.99 to $25.99
Current Special:
Sunday through Wednesday specially marked entrees are $9.99

101 is a restaurant that advertises itself as “a social dining experience”. It is part bar, part restaurant. The “social” experience comes from an extensive tapas menu and the ownership of a club next door, Mint. I couldn’t find any information on their website, but to the best of my knowledge you still need to pay cover for Mint even if you eat at 101 first. Since it was just my girlfriend and I, the tapas experience will need to be reviewed on another day.
